In short: we collect what the app needs to work — your account details, the reels and photos you upload, and basic device and usage information. We use it to run the three feeds, count valid views for creator earnings, keep the platform safe, and answer your support messages. We do not sell your information and we do not run advertising. You can change your privacy settings, block accounts, turn notifications off, and deactivate or delete your account whenever you want.
1. What this Policy covers
We at ClabPix want you to understand what information we collect, and how we use and share it. That’s why we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy. This helps you use the app in the way that’s right for you.
Below we explain how we collect, use, share and retain information, and what rights you have. Each section is written in plain language, with examples, so our practices are easy to check against what you see in the app.
It’s important to us that you know how to control your privacy, so we also show you where you can manage your information in the app’s own settings.
What does this Policy cover?
This Policy covers the ClabPix app and this website, which we together call the “Products”. They are operated by Gov India Technologies.
2. What information do we collect?
What we collect depends on how you use the app. Publishing a reel and browsing the Popular feed leave different traces. We try to keep each category as small as the feature allows.
Here’s the information we collect:
- Account details you provide at sign-up — a phone number or email address, a username, and a password, or a Google or Apple sign-in. If you sign in by phone, we send a one-time code to verify the number; the code is short-lived and is never stored in readable form.
- Profile information you choose to add — display name, bio, profile photo, cover image, city, website, date of birth, gender, and the public contact details or social links you put on your profile. Profile photos and covers are held for review before they appear.
- Content you upload and its metadata — videos and their thumbnails, captions, hashtags, the sound attached to a reel, photos in your gallery, marketplace listings, and comments you write.
- Activity data — the reels you watch and for how long, reactions, follows, bookmarks, searches, and the profiles you visit. Watch time matters because a view only counts towards creator earnings after the minimum watch time shown in the app.
- Approximate location, but only if you use People Nearby — the app sends your latitude and longitude when you open that screen, and we keep the most recent position on your profile record so the feature can work.
- Device and diagnostic information — a push notification token, your IP address, the app and device identification your app sends with each request, and server and error logs.
- Transaction records — your wallet balance, earnings credited for valid views, referral rewards, and payments for the platform fee or a verification badge. Card, UPI and netbanking details are handled by our payment provider and are never stored by us.
- Safety records — reports you make about content or accounts, accounts you block, and support tickets you send us.
What if you don’t let us collect certain information?
Some information is required for the app to work at all: without an account identifier and a session we cannot show you a personal feed or credit your earnings. Other information is optional — location, a profile photo, a bio — and declining it only turns off the feature that needs it.
What if the information doesn’t identify individuals?
Some of what we look at is aggregated before we see it — how many reels were published in a day, which sounds are being used most. That does not identify you, and we do not try to re-identify it.
3. How do we use your information?
We use your information to operate the app and for nothing incompatible with that. Some of it is processed automatically by our systems; in a few cases, described below, a person reviews it.
Here are the ways we use your information:
To provide, personalise and improve the app
We use the information we have to run the app and make it better. This includes:
- Creating and securing your account, and keeping you signed in.
- Assembling the Following, Popular and New feeds, and personalising search, hashtag and sound results.
- Delivering the notifications you have left switched on.
- Seeing whether the app is working correctly — fixing crashes, slow uploads and failed playback.
We do not run advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles from your activity.
To count valid views and pay creators
We use watch time, the viewer’s account and the reel’s owner to decide whether a view is valid, and then to calculate earnings, wallet balances and referral rewards. Section 4 of the Terms explains the rules that decision follows.
To promote safety, security and integrity
We use the information we collect to investigate reports, spam, fraud and inauthentic engagement, to enforce our rules, and to protect people from harm. Profile photos and cover images are reviewed by a person before they go live, and a moderator may review content or an account that has been reported.
To provide measurement and analytics
We look at aggregate counts — reels published, active accounts, sounds in use — to understand what is working on the platform and where to spend our effort. These figures do not identify you.
To communicate with you
We use the contact details on your account to reply to support tickets, to send the one-time codes and account-recovery messages you ask for, and to tell you about changes that affect your account or these documents.
4. How do we share information with third parties?
We don’t sell any of your information to anyone and we never will. We share it only where a feature needs it, and only with providers under contract to use it for that purpose alone. The categories are:
- Cloud hosting and media storage, which hold uploaded video, images and the database.
- A content delivery network, which serves your reels and images to viewers.
- SMS delivery, for the one-time codes used to verify a phone number.
- Push notification delivery.
- Payment processing, for the platform fee and verification badge.
- Email delivery, for verification and account messages.
- Server logging and error monitoring, which hold request logs for a short retention period.
Other people in the app see whatever your privacy settings allow — your public reels, your profile, your comments, and your marketplace listings.
Other third parties
We may disclose information if the law requires it, in response to a valid legal request, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud or protect someone’s safety. If our business is ever transferred, we will tell you before your information moves to a new operator.
5. Permissions on your device
Each permission is requested only when you first use the feature that needs it, and the app keeps working — with that feature unavailable — if you decline. You can change any of them later in your device settings.
6. How can you manage or delete your information?
The app’s settings are the fastest route. You can choose who may comment on your reels and who may see your videos, photos, likes, friends, age and gender; turn ghost mode on so your profile visits are not recorded; clear your list of profile visitors; block or unblock any account from its profile or from your blacklist; switch off any category of push notification; make a reel private or unpublish it; edit or delete your profile details; and deactivate your account, which takes your profile and reels out of the app while letting you return later.
You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it outright rather than deactivate. Write to us using the contact page and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
7. How long do we keep your information for?
We keep information for as long as your account is active, and after that only for as long as we have a reason to. Here’s what we consider when we decide:
- Whether we need it to operate the app — we keep your account record for as long as the account exists.
- What the feature is and how it works — a one-time code lives for minutes, a reel lives until you delete it, and a deleted reel sits in Recently Deleted so you can restore it.
- Whether the law requires us to keep it — payment and earnings records are kept for tax and accounting purposes.
- Whether we need it to prevent harm, investigate breaches of these documents, or protect our rights, property or the platform — including a minimal record of accounts removed for serious safety violations, so that they cannot simply be recreated.
When you deactivate, your profile and reels stop being visible but are retained so you can restore them. When you ask for deletion, we remove your account and content from live systems, and from backups on our normal backup rotation. Server and access logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.
8. Children
The app is not intended for children. You must be at least 15 years old to create an account, and if you are under 18 you may only use the app with the consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of it — including any payment made through the app.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone below the minimum age, we will remove it and delete the associated information. If you believe a child has an account, tell us through the contact page.
9. How will you know that this Policy has changed?
If we change this Policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For changes that materially affect how we use your information — including switching on a feature that collects something new — we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, so you have a chance to review them or close your account.
10. How to contact us with questions
If you have any questions about this Policy, or any complaint or request regarding your information, you can contact us online or by post. Your message reaches our support team, who route it to the person responsible for data protection.
